~Trying to Revived~ In the world's automotive, the Tatra is known as one of the oldest Czech automotive brands which has existed since the mid-19th century. Currently the manufacturer, which was originally based in Kopřivnice is survived, has become a reliable truck or heavy duty vehicle maker and changed its name to Tatra Trucks with a production base in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

The glitter of the automotive world, especially the supercar design sector, also attracted the interest of this Czech manufacturer to try to take part in it. Although the Czech automaker didn't actually take part or be directly involved in its development, did you know this car was originally developed by Metalex (MTX) , the small Prague-based auto-workshop specializes in Skoda cars.

As quoted of Wikipedia , the mentioned supercar called the Tatra MTX V8 is the work of a talented automotive designer named Václav Král and those Czech-made supercar built in 1991 with the racing technology and powered by an 3.9-liters V8 Tatra engine.

Those engine capable to burst an amount excessive power of 302 hp at 6,500 rpm and given the car an acceleration from zero to 100 kph in 5.6 seconds and top speed of 265 kph.So no wonder if the car with the vertically opened scissor doors and pop-up headlamps dubbed as the Czech's fastest car in the time.

After it passed driving tests at the Tatra polygon races at Kopřivnice, at the airport in Mošnov and at the autodrom in Most. Finally theTatra MTX V8 is debuted for the first time at the Prague Motor Show 1991 .

The MTX V8 received orders of 200 units, so the company started production of a limited series of 100 units. In the early stages of production, the supercar project was sold to a new owner, unfortunately the factory caught fire which then stopped production forever.

So during production periods of 1991 to 1993, they completed four cars only, ie a red and a white one that have Czech private owners, a black one that is exhibited in the Sports Car Museum in Lány, and a fourth was reportedly delivered as a kit to the United States.
